Hrvoje Butković from the Department for European Integration published a scientific article in the journal Croatian International Relations Review Vol. 23. No. 77:39-80. The article “The Rise of Direct Democracy in Croatia: Balancing or Challenging Parliamentary Representation?” analyses the practice of direct democracy in selected transitional countries, which could be instructive for Croatia. In its central part, paper explores the obstacle that stand in the way of the efficient implementation of direct democracy in Croatia.
