An analysis of the effects of climate change (e.g. reduction of precipitation, especially in summer), mitigation measures (cessation of fossil fuel use) and adaptation to climate change (e.g. irrigation, flood protection) on the number and type of jobs and working conditions in Croatia was carried out. This refers to (i) reducing the need for some workers due to climate change (e.g. if ski resorts are closed due to rising temperatures, there is no need to arrange trails) or due to climate change mitigation measures (e.g. jobs related to the use of fossil fuels); (ii) increasing the need for certain services due to climate change and adaptation to climate change (e.g. firefighters, ambulances and other emergency services)  and (iii) developing innovations and new jobs (e.g. related to renewable energy sources, design, construction, maintenance and reconstruction of key infrastructure). Working conditions will change, especially in occupations related to outdoor work and emergency services. The needs for specific knowledge and skills will also change. The direction and magnitude of climate change impacts, climate change mitigation measures and climate change adaptation measures will not be the same in all regions, sectors, or for all workers. This study provided an initial assessment of the effects of the climate crisis on the labour market and workers in Croatia.
