“AI Upskilling Workshops” at IRMO, under the expert guidance of Filip Macukić and Mislav Krstulović from Mediaartem, are intended to strengthen digital competencies and practical knowledge of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) for scientists and IRMO professional services.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about the basic concepts related to GenAI and large language models (LLM), as well as the work of the popular ChatGPT tool. Through interactive presentations and practical tasks, the focus was on developing communication skills with GenAI tools through the so-called “prompt engineering” – a structured approach to shaping queries according to context, task and expectation.

Key highlights of the workshop were:

  • understanding the work of AI and GenAI tools;
  • using the ChatGPT interface and understanding its main capabilities;
  • structuring queries according to task, context and expectation, and recognizing the difference between effective and less effective prompts;
  • improving productivity and learning processes through the use of GenAI tools;
  • application of GenAI tools for research, data processing and optimization of written communication.
