The Institute for Development and International Relations in cooperation with College Ambitio is providing free education for third-country nationals as part of the project “Empowering Migrant Workers for a Sustainable Future: Upskilling and Reskilling for Green and Digital Jobs – EMERALD.” The project includes two programs: organic vegetable cultivation and installation of photovoltaic systems. The training programme for acquiring the micro-qualification “Organic Vegetable Cultivation” lasts a total of 120 hours, of which 40 hours are dedicated to guided learning and teaching, and 80 hours to work-based learning at the employer’s premises. The total duration of the programme is approximately 12 weeks, depending on availability and the organisation of delivery. The training programme for acquiring the micro-qualification “Installation of Photovoltaic Systems” lasts a total of 170 hours, of which 55 hours are dedicated to guided learning and teaching, and 115 hours to work-based learning at the employer’s premises. The total duration of the programme is approximately 13 weeks, depending on availability and the organisation of delivery. Classes are delivered twice a week in the afternoon, through a combination of in-person teaching and online sessions via Microsoft Teams. The practical part of the programme takes place at the employer’s premises, in agreement with both participants and employers.
