The Institute for Development and International Relations, as part of the More than a Village project, is presenting three innovative tools designed to support the development of rural communities across Europe: the Smart tourism village tool, the Agri-food smart village tool, and the Smart village business support tool.

Developed based on challenges faced, lessons learned, and conclusions from implementing pilot actions in Poland, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia, these tools compile insights and best practices to provide practical solutions for strengthening rural economies and increasing the attractiveness of rural areas.

The participatory process behind their development ensured that experiences, practical solutions, and tested methods from the Smart Village pilots were incorporated, making the tools a valuable resource for decision-makers and local actors. Adaptable to diverse contexts, they support inclusive participation, sustainable development, and innovative approaches to rural challenges.

The tools represent a key step toward empowering rural communities to co-create vibrant, resilient, and future-oriented villages.

Tools are available on the official More Than a Village website.
