On Thursday, October 2, an organized group of students from the Faculty of Government and European Studies (Nova Gorica) and the European Faculty of Law (Kranj), which operate within the New University of Nova Gorica, visited IRMO. Hrvoje Butković, Scientific Advisor, and Krševan Antun Dujmović, Expert Advisor from the Department of European Policies, introduced the students to the institute’s field of work and their views on some important political and economic issues for Croatia. Among other things, the meeting discussed the current economic situation in Croatia, challenges on the labour market, the effects of joining the Eurozone and Schengen, the rule of law situation, relations with the regional countries, Croatia’s foreign policy, as well as dynamic developments in the field of defence. After the introductory presentations, the institute representatives answered student’ questions in which parallels were often drawn between the situation and perspectives in Croatia and Slovenia.
