Lucija Gegić was born in 1995 in Zagreb. She is Research Assistant at the Department for Culture and Communication at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO). She completed a double major program in Croatian Language and Literature and Sociology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and graduated in 2022 with theses titled Strategies of Conservative Social Movements in Croatia and Analysis of Transitional Everyday Life in Hladno pivo Lyrics. During her studies, she participated in an Erasmus+ study exchange at the University of Ljubljana and an Erasmus+ internship at the Center for Southeast European Studies at the University of Graz. She presented papers at several international conferences in Split, Zagreb, and Budapest, and was a member of the organizing committee of the first international conference of Croatian Studies students K(r)onferencija, as well as a member of the editorial board of the literary and cultural theory journal K. She is a member of IRMO team on the HORIZON Europe project CresCine, and on the CULTMED – Interdisciplinary research on cultural and media policies and practices: developmental and democratic potentials project. Her interests include popular culture, theories of everyday life, social movements, and the development and improvement of civil society.
