Job title: Research associate

Marina Funduk is a research associate in the Department for Resource Economics, Environmental Protection and Regional Development at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), Zagreb. She holds a degree in political science (2005), Advance Master of European Studies (2008) and a PhD in Comparative Politics from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb (2015). She has also completed a one-year programme at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia (2010). Her research interests include environmental policy, environmental security, sustainable development, nature protection, water management and water security. She has been involved in a number of internationally funded projects (UNDP, GEF, World Bank). The most relevant professional experiences include: Protection and Sustainable Use of the Dinaric Karst Transboundary Aquifer System – DIKTAS, GEF-UNDP, 2011-2014; Water Demand Management in Mediterranean Countries: Thinking outside the water box! Croatian case study, UN Blue Plan Regional Activity Center, 2011-2012; Nature Protection Investment Project, World Bank, Ministry of Culture of Republic of Croatia, 2009-2010.
