Conference “30 Years of Diplomatic Relations Between Azerbaijan and Croatia: Achievements and Further Perspectives’’ was held on 21st May 2025 at the National and University Library in Zagreb.

This conference was held during the Regular bilateral consultations between the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Mr. Branko Zebić, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Azerbaijan, and H.E. Mr. Anar Imanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Croatia, while keynote speeches were given by H.E. Mr. Fariz Rzayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and H.E. Mr. Frano Matušić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.

Panel discussion titled “Azerbaijan-Croatia Bilateral Relations: Achievements and Further Perspectives”, moderated by Krševan Antun Dujmović, M.Sc., had the following participants: Mr. Ivan Malenica, Chairman of Committee on the Constitution, Standing Orders and Political System, member of Interparliamentary Friendship Group Croatia – Azerbaijan, Croatian Parliament; Mrs. Ana Čulo, Director at the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia; Mr. Neven Karas, Assistant Director-General, Civil Protection Directorate, Ministry of the Interior; Ms. Višnja Grgasović, Head of Sector, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition; and Ms. Đana Luša, Associate Professor, Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb.

Participants of the panel discussed current aspects of cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan, considering Azerbaijan’s important role in connecting Europe and Asia through the so-called Middle Corridor and other routes. Views were exchanged on the situation in the South Caucasus and Southeastern Europe.
