Krševan Antun Dujmović, M.Sc., participated at the International Forum named “Solidarity in Action: Strengthening Global South NGOs for a New and Fair World” held in Baku, Azerbaijan on 28th and 29th April 2025.
Participants of this Forum, organized by Agency on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, included leaders of influential non-governmental organizations and civil society representatives from 116 countries, covering about 80 percent of the world’s population. The main goal of this event gathering representatives from over 100 prominent non-governmental organizations and civil society organizations was to establish the first-ever Global South NGO Platform.
The idea for the creation of the Global South NGO Platform was conceived during the international conference on South-South cooperation of NGOs held on the sidelines of the Climate Conference COP29 in Baku.
Azerbaijan’s efforts to foster active dialogue between the Global South and the Global North culminated in the “Baku Breakthrough” achieved during COP29.
COP29, hosted by Azerbaijan in November 2024, marked a historic success, and welcomed around 80 thousand participants from 197 countries.
