The reports seek to analyse national media policies and are focused on the question: Does media policy promote media freedom and independence? The country report on Croatian media policy has been written by the IMO research team (Nada Švob-Đokić, Paško Bilić and Zrinjka Peruško) and published as a result of the research largely based on interviewees with journalists, publishers, regulators and politicians involved in the media policy and media industry. The report engages in an empirical study of the institutional dynamics of media policy-making and also examines the regulatory framework governing the media, investigating whether the domestic rules, as enacted and implemented, facilitate the development of free and independent media. Research methods employed in this case study report include an examination of primary resources, secondary literature and semi-structured interviews.
