On January 16 and 17, 2025, a two-day training session was held in Požega for members of the County Council for Social Welfare and officials of Požega-Slavonia County. The training was conducted by scientists from the Institute for Development and International Relations – Dr. Sanja Tišma, Dr. Sanja Maleković, and Dr. Ivana Keser.

Požega-Slavonia County is the lead institution for the project Social Plan of Požega-Slavonia County, which aims to improve the social welfare system at the county level. The development of this strategic document is based on an analysis of the capacities and availability of social service providers, as well as an assessment of the needs of groups at higher risk of social exclusion.

The main objective of the training was to enhance the competencies of county officials in data collection and processing related to social services, the application of SWOT analysis as a tool for identifying county needs and potentials, the development of a vision, and the definition of goals, measures, and activities for the future improvement of social services. Additionally, the training aimed to strengthen experts in social planning, particularly in the creation, monitoring, and implementation of the social plan.

The project is funded by the European Social Fund Plus under the Efficient Human Resources 2021 – 2027 programme. The total project value is €61,904.85, with 95% of the funding provided as non-repayable grants.
