On November 28, 2024, an expert team from the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), led by Dr. Daniela Angelina Jelinčić, held the first workshop in Split as part of the Culture Development Plan of Split-Dalmatia County for the period 2025–2030. Alongside Dr. Jelinčić, the IRMO team included the Institute’s Director Dr. Sanja Tišma and Assistant Marko Raič.

The workshop gathered a diverse group of participants, including directors of cultural institutions, members of the county’s Cultural Council, representatives from the Tourist Board, civil sector representatives in culture, and other cultural professionals. The event was hosted by the Department for Culture, Sports, and Technical Culture of Split-Dalmatia County, with a welcome speech held by department’s head, Željko Primorac.

The primary focus of this first workshop was to identify the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for the cultural development of the County in the upcoming strategic period. Through active discussions, participants provided valuable contributions by identifying current challenges, needs, and opportunities for the upcoming period. The expected goal of the workshop was fulfilled. In addition, networking among cultural professionals was achieved, which resulted in the exchange of ideas and the encouragement of cooperation among stakeholders. Two more workshops are planned as part of the project.
