Dr Dea Vidović, Senior Research Assistant and collaborator on the CULTMED project, participated on October 17, 2025 in the panel “International Cultural Cooperation and the Limits of Project-Based Collaboration,” held at the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica in Italy as part of the three-day event Life on Mars 2025 organised by the Italian association Liv•in•g. Alongside Dea Vidović, the panel included Prof. Dr Lluís Bonet Agustí, Director of the Cultural Management Programme and Professor of Economics at the University of Barcelona, while Giuliana Ciancio from Liv•in•g moderated the discussion. The panel sparked a dialogue about the current challenges of international cultural cooperation, exploring how justice and more sustainable models of partnership can be developed beyond the constraints of project-based logic and how to strengthen long-term, solidarity-driven collaborations in the international context.
The Life on Mars 2025 event, held from 15 to 17 October 2025, brought together Italian artists and cultural professionals with international scholars and experts through a rich programme of workshops, discussions, mentoring sessions, and networking activities. Conceived as an immersive experience of shared learning and alliance-building, the event aimed to foster visionary projects that respond to the pressing challenges faced by the cultural sector today.
International speakers and mentors included: Martina Pignatti Morano (Un Ponte Per, Italy), Fanny Bouquerel (Université Paris 8, France), Jo Mangan (The Performance Corporation, Ireland), Marzia Santone (Creative Europe Desk, Italy), Sara Paolella (Scomodo, Italy), Umberto Bellodi (Accademia Teatro alla Scala, Italy), and Yohann Floch (On the Move, France).
