The 29th International Scientific Conference National Minorities, Migration, and Security was held on Brijuni island from 8 through 10 September 2025. The event was organised by the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb, in cooperation with the Academic Network for Cooperation in South East Europe, the Croatian Government’s Office for Human Rights and Rights of National Minorities, the Faculty of Security Studies of the University of Belgrade, and the Institute for Ethnic Studies in Ljubljana.

Dr. Emina Bužinkić from the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) participated in the conference, presenting as part of the thematic panel National Minorities in Democratic Societies – GEMINI Project. In her paper titled Voices from the Margin: Serb and Bosniak Women in Social Reproduction of Precarious Communities in Croatia, co-authored with Dr. Antonija Petričušić and Nina Čolović, the authors examine the position and experiences of Serb and Bosniak women in contemporary Croatia through the lens of social reproduction, inequality, and marginalisation.

The panel brought together researchers from Croatia and Austria who, through case studies, addressed political participation, statelessness, and the rights and status of minority women in Croatia. The panel was held within the framework of the GEMINI project, which explores the position of minorities in democratic societies.
