The joint strategy and the transnational action plan for smart village transition in Central Europe result from the hard work in WP1 of all “More than a Village (MTaV)” project partners.

With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and collaboration, the joint strategy outlines the key approaches and actions needed to drive positive change in rural Central Europe. It was developed based on the capitalisation of previous projects’ results, the exchange of experience, surveys, and reports.

The transnational action plan is a blueprint for transforming rural areas into vibrant and sustainable communities. It outlines the innovative steps that will be taken in five pilot regions: South Warmia in Poland, Alta Val Polcevera in Italy, Hajdú-Bihar in Hungary, Pomurje in Slovenia, and Buzet in Croatia.

The project continues with WP2, the specific objective of which is to transform the smart village vision and strategy into 3 pilot actions that develop different smart village models, addressing the needs and challenges of the rural areas.

The project “More than a Village: Smart Village Transition, a Model for More Competitive and Attractive Villages in Central Europe” is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg Central Europe 2021-2027 program.
