Damir Demonja, Ph.D., a Research Adviser, from the Department of International Economic and Political Relations at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), Zagreb, along with the co-author Pavlo Ružić, Ph.D., a Research Adviser from the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism (IPTPO), Poreč, Croatia, published a scientific paper under the title “Contribution to the research of sustainable tourism development concept in the example of Istria (Croatia)” in the Romanian scientific journal Scientific Annals of the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi  – Economic Sciences Section, Vol. 62, No. 2 (2015). The journal is published by the University of Iasi and is indexed in the SCOPUS database. The paper identifies, evaluates and predicts factors that support the sustainable development of tourism in Istria (Croatia). The research used comparative and SWOT analyses while the results have confirmed the application of elements of the concept of sustainable development in the tourism of Istria, which is, with different intensity, used by all stakeholders of the area through different activities.
