On July 17, Damir Demonja, Ph.D. met with Maria Gravari-Barbas, Ph.D., the directress of the IREST, the Institut de Recherche et d’Etudes du Tourisme Superieures, Universite Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne, in Cite Universitaire, Fondation Hellenique in Paris. The meeting focused on the operationalization of cooperation under the Cooperation Agreement signed between IRMO and IREST. It was agreed that the existing experiences in the research of tourism in Croatia should be published as scientific articles in the respected online publication “Via@Tourism Review”, International Interdisciplinary Journal of Tourism, in the 2017 issue. The editor-in-chief of that issue will be Damir Demonja. All contributions, reviewed and accepted by scientific experts, would be published in seven languages (German, Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and English). This will provide an opportunity for the international scientific community to learn about the current state and achievements of Croatian tourism thus opening the possibilities to develop and include both institutions in international scientific research and projects. Mutual visits/exchange of the researchers from IRMO and IREST was encouraged by means of available funding programs for professors/researchers visits/exchange from the European funds. Also, Damir Demonja, Ph.D. was invited to deliver several lectures on tourism issues covered in his scientific research to the students of IREST, within the framework of the IREST’s scientists/researchers/professors visiting program.
