RESTORIVER project aims to enhance climate adaptation capacities of riversides and riparian areas by aligning high-level water management, climate adaptation, and flood protection policies with local interventions. The project unites various institutions along the Danube and its tributaries to explore the benefits of natural water-retention measures (NWRM) and address obstacles to their application.

Within the activity A.3.1 Stimulating improved and more integrated water management, climate change adaptation and urban/land use planning for RESTORIVER countries and regions, IRMO will prepare a deliverable D.3.1.2 Comparative analysis of policy environments. The aim is to analyse 14 documents with their gaps, barriers, contradictions, but also opportunities in existing policies on all levels, in terms of natural water retention measures, nature-based solutions and climate change adaptation and identify potential and recommendations for their improvement.
