IRMO, together with Ruđer Bošković Institute, is a partner on the project “The Development and Prospects of International Relations: The Establishment of Standards of Higher Education Qualifications in the Field of International Relations, Diplomacy and Sustainable Development” coordinated by Dag Hammarskjöld University College of International Relations and Diplomacy from Zagreb. The project was launched at the joint meeting of partners in the Dag Hammarskjöld University College of International Relations and Diplomacy on June 29, 2015 and the first workshop was held at the University College on July 15, 2015.

The project will establish a system of quality assurance within higher education in the field of international relations, diplomacy and sustainable development through the definition of standards for the comparability of equal qualifications obtained at different institutions of higher education and will develop a new undergraduate degree program that deals with sustainable development. Environmental and energy issues are approached from an interdisciplinary perspective which will include natural-scientific and technical aspects as well as socio-economic and political aspects of the issues of energy, environment and sustainable development. This project will create two occupational standards and four standards of complete qualifications, will improve two existing study programs and will develop two new study programs, will improve the teaching competences of 40 teachers and contribute to the overall advancement of higher education in the Republic of Croatia.

The project is co-funded by the European Union from the European Social Fund in the scope of the Operational Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013 in the context of calls for grant HR.3.1.15 Improving quality in higher education with the application of the Croatian Qualifications Framework. The project will last 15 months.
