Last week, the second edition of the 27 STARS conference titled “From Migration to Integration” was held in Zagreb, organized by the student association Financijski klub from the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Zagreb. The project aims to address key European topics, and this year’s focus was on migration and integration policies in Croatia and the European Union.
Dr. Senada Šelo Šabić, Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), participated as a panelist on the second day of the conference, held on 9 May 2025, in the panel “Migration in Croatia: Economic and Social Effects”. In her presentation, she emphasized the need for a holistic approach to migration, addressing social, demographic, and economic dimensions, and the importance of coherent integration policies in light of increasing labor migration flows to Croatia.
IRMO is proud to support the engagement of its researchers in public discussions that contribute to a deeper understanding of contemporary challenges and the development of effective public policies.
