Senada Šelo Šabić, Scientific Adviser at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), participated in the international conference “Building Resilience Through Sharing Democratic Experiences: A CEI Appraisal”, held on 23 June 2026 at the University of Warsaw, Poland.
The conference was organised by the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw, with the support of the Central European Initiative (CEI) Cooperation Fund, and coincided with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the CEI Secretariat. It brought together scholars and experts to exchange views on democratic experiences and governance systems in the CEI region, with a focus on how to strengthen democratic resilience in the current geopolitical situation.
The conference featured three panels addressing the importance of regional cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe, challenges for democracy in an era of digital transformation and geopolitical turbulence, and democratic experiences across the region — including sessions on the Western Balkans, Ukraine, Moldova, and Hungary. Šelo Šabić’s participation reflects IRMO’s continued engagement in key European academic and policy debates on democracy and regional resilience.
