As part of its Presidency, Croatia has hosted the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) Summit, as well as the Three Seas Initiative Business Forum on 28 and 29 April 2026 at the Valamar Lacroma Hotel in Dubrovnik.
Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) has co-organized two side event during the Three Seas Initiative Business Forum.
Side Event under the title “Connectivity and Security: Ukraine and Moldova’s Contribution to the 3 Seas Initiative” was co-organized by IRMO and New Strategy Center, from Bucharest, Romania. Speakers at the panel discussion were: Kateryna Shymkevych, Director of the Analytical Center for Balkans Studies, Ukraine; Laurențiu Pachiu, Senior associate expert, New Strategy Center, Romania; Mihai Mogîldea, Deputy Director, Institute for European Policies and Reforms, Republic of Moldova; and Gordan Akrap, Vice Rector of the “Dr. Franjo Tuđman” Defense and Security University, Zagreb, Croatia. The side event was moderated by Krševan Antun Dujmović, M.Sc., Expert Advisor at IRMO.
Side event under the title “Ten years of 3SI from Croatian and Polish Perspective: Achievements and Future Developments” was co-organized by IRMO and Intermarium Institute Foundation, from Gdynia, Poland. Speakers at the panel discussion were: Sandra Baniak-Stachowiak, Research Fellow at the Center for Eastern Studies, Poland; Liliana Śmiech, Chairwoman of the Foundation Council at Warsaw Institute, Poland; Adam Chmielecki, Member of Program Board in Intermarium Institute, Poland; Przemysław Żurawski vel Grajewski, Lecturer at the University of Łódź, Poland; and Ivica Jakić, Energy expert and director of H2 Hydrogen Cell Croatia. The side event was moderated by Krševan Antun Dujmović, M.Sc., Expert Advisor at IRMO.
The Three Seas Initiative (3SI) was launched in 2015 and it is a forum of 13 countries, members states of the EU in Central and Eastern Europe representing a market of approximately 120 million people with collective GDP of 3,5 trillion euros in 2025.
The 3SI Business Forum has gathered more than 1500 policymakers, business leaders, researchers, investors, and financial institutions from numerous countries, focusing on transport, energy, digital industry, dual use, and finance.
