Marko Raič from the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) took part in the 3rd International Scientific and Professional Conference “Medvednica Green Touch” (Zeleni dodir Medvednice), where he delivered a presentation titled “Greening Of Cultural Heritage: Concepts, Practices and Policies in the Context of Climate Change” on 9 September 2026. He presented a s research summary by Dr. Daniela Angelina Jelinčić, Dr. Sanja Tišma and Marko Raič, drawing on their previously published Guidebook for the Greening of Cultural Heritage.
Speaking to a professional audience, Raič outlined what greening cultural heritage means, an analysis of relevant public policy at the international, European and national levels, and a systematic overview of good practices and practical guidelines for implementation. The conference proved a valuable opportunity to exchange experience with experts working at the crossroads of culture, the environment and climate change and to help advance understanding of the role cultural heritage can play in the green transition.
