On Thursday, 5th February 2026, the Institute for Development and International Relations hosted the Head of the Central Europe regional project from the Hanns Seidel Foundation office in Prague, Dr. Markus Ehm, and the Director of the Foundation’s office in Zagreb, M. Sc. Aleksandra Markić Boban. The Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Institute for Development and International Relations have been successfully cooperating for many years on numerous projects.
The meeting focused on further cooperation and projects of mutual interest, aimed at addressing current topics within an increasingly challenging international security environment. In responding to new security challenges, Dr. Markus Ehm emphasized the importance of cooperation among Central European countries, including Croatia as an important partner. The Director of the Institute, Dr. Jakša Puljiz, presented the work of the Institute and highlighted the significance of this long-standing cooperation and partnership for the Institute’s international visibility. IRMO Scientific Advisor, Dr. Sandro Knezović, highlighted key projects developed through the cooperation between the Foundation and the Institute in recent years, such as the IRMO Brief, the Šipan Summer School, the publication “Glossary of the European Union Common Security and Defence Policy”, and numerous other publications and round tables. The meeting confirmed the continuation of this long-standing and fruitful cooperation.
