On November 21, 2024, eighteen economic analysts and scientists from CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis visited the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO). CPB is responsible for preparing the official economic projection for the Dutch government and conducts analysis and research on economic policies.

Research assistants Leona Knežević Mužić and Ana Vučemilović-Grgić presented the work of Institute and gave a brief overview of its history, institutional structure and the areas of research of IRMO scientists. After the presentation from the CPB, the discussion began in which IRMO scientists Ana-Maria Boromisa, PhD, and Nevenka Čučković, PhD, as well as research assistant Ivana Biondić Jazbec, participated in.

  • How has Croatia’s integration into the EU shaped its economic policies and development?
  • What are the main challenges Croatia faces in aligning its national policies with EU regulations?
  • How are geopolitical shifts, such as the rise of China and the changing dynamics within the EU, impacting political and economic policy decisions in Croatia?
  • How does Croatia balance its national economic policies with broader EU strategies regarding China?

Other related current economic and political topics were also discussed.
