Research Assistant Lea Fabić participated in the 19th International Scientific and Professional Conference ,,Crisis Management Days – DKU 2026”, held on 2–3 June 2026 in Velika Gorica, Croatia. The conference brought together numerous researchers, experts, and institutional representatives from Croatia and abroad to exchange knowledge and experiences in the fields of security, crisis management, risk management, and contemporary global challenges. 

On the second day of the conference, Research Assistant Lea Fabić presented a paper entitled ,,Security at the Margins: How Small EU and NATO Member States Navigate Geostrategic Turbulence”, co-authored with dr. Sandro Knezović. The paper examines the key challenges faced by small member states of the European Union and NATO within the contemporary international security environment, characterized by geopolitical tensions and shifting global power dynamics. Particular attention is devoted to the ways in which small states, despite their limited material capabilities, manage to protect and promote their national interests while maintaining an active role within Euro-Atlantic security structures.
