As part of the recently established Center for Migration Studies at the Institute for Development and International Relations, a research forum titledDocumenting the Educational Experiences of Refugees and Migrants: Research Practices and Migrant Advocacywas held. The forum was held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at the Institute as part of the Refugee Week event. The research forum was organized in collaboration with the Center for Peace Studies and as part of the ENDURE projectInequalities, Community Resilience, and New Modalities ofGovernance in a Post-Pandemic World, which is financially supported by the Croatian Science Foundation.
Three recent studies were presented at the forum: “Aftershocks in the Education of Young Refugees from Southeast Asia and North Africa in the Context of Multiple Pandemicsby Dr. Emina Bužinkić; “Shadow Report on the Implementation of Integration Measures: Access to Higher Education and Status Issuesby the Coordinating Committee for Human Rights, presented by Lucija Mulalić and Abdoulie Jobe; andEducational Experiences of Refugees from Primary Education to Higher Educationby Dr. Dinka Čorkalo Biruški and Dr. Margareta Jelić. The forum concluded with a discussion on the future directions of research on the educational experiences of refugees andmigrants, focusing on thematic priorities and the collaboration between the academic community and non-governmental organizations.
