On Friday, April 10, 2020, a kick-off meeting was held in the scope of the project “Acquiring key practical skills in the field of environmental engineering”, coordinated by the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, University of Zagreb, and the Institute for Development and International Relations is one of the partners of the project.

Due to current circumstances, the meeting was held via the Zoom platform. It was agreed that the activities planned in the scope of the project continue as smoothly as possible, keeping in mind the students and the opportunities provided by the internship planned in the scope of the project.

The purpose of this project is to develop key practical skills through the development, improvement and implementation ofinternship in the undergraduate and graduate study programsin Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering.

Through the development of an institutional system of internships with an associated online system for planning and monitoring its quality, the project aims to facilitate student employment through the development of partnerships with institutions, which will enable them to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice, and also to establish a Career Development Center and increase the number of students in the STEM area.
