ChangingTIDE is a transnational project with the aim of strengthening democratic resistance to the challenges of disinformation, manipulation of information and interference in democratic processes. The project is focused on: i) equipping citizens, especially young people, with media literacy competencies and tools for identifying and combating false information; ii) joint development of tangible results to combat disinformation, including a media literacy education manual based on local education programs developed through the project and a series of public awareness campaigns. The project includes 13 events that will take place in six EU member states (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Portugal, Ireland and Estonia). The project will start cyclically with five national incubators of media literacy for young people. After that, a Campaign Lab will be opened in Brussels, where a selected number of motivated young people (Changemakers) will be additionally trained to solve locally relevant challenges and act as multipliers in their communities. A Changemakers’ Forum will subsequently be held in Brussels, which will bring together practitioners and young people with relevant policy makers at the local or regional level and educational experts.
