In this new issue of IRMO aktualno series, Anastasya Raditya Ležaić analyses the political and economic cooperation between the European Union and Japan after the Economic Partnership Agreement and the Strategic Partnership Agreement entered into force. She also discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected this cooperation. The pandemic has caused significant structural changes in the economy and changes in financing plans which might be a good opportunity for both parties to spend bigger investment aimed at strengthening the economic resilience. The crisis caused by the pandemic has become a catalyst, strengthens and reshapes the cooperation model between EU and Japan.
Following this discussion for EU and Japan, it is also essential to examine where Croatia stands under the circumstances and how will Croatia and Japan cooperate in creating a resilient society. The author invites readers to participate in an online conference “Towards a resilient society –Cooperation between Croatia and Japan” organised by the Institute for Development and International Relations on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Experts, scientists and stakeholders will answer questions related to the cooperation between Croatia and Japan.
