The book “Mapping and Monitoring SSR in Croatia” represents a result of three years long regional research project “Civil Society Capacity Building to Map and Monitor Security System Reform in the Western Balkans 2009-2012” which was conducted by IMO researchers (Sandro Knezović, Mladen Staničić, Zvonimir Mahečić) in cooperation with other regional partners, supported by Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and generously funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The publication contains seven chapters (criteria papers) which provide an overview of security sector reform in Croatia as well as its achievements and weaknesses. The purpose of this book is to contribute to the better understanding of the mentioned reform and its overall importance for the democratic development of Croatian society.
