Eudaimonic tourism, as an innovative approach to tourism, shows significant potential in ensuring destination sustainability by providing visitors with meaningful and emotional experiences. The study analyzed existing literature to address two key questions: how to design eudaimonic tourist experiences that foster well-being, and what is the role of emotions in these experiences. The results indicate that eudaimonic tourism not only enriches visitors’ lives but also contributes to destination sustainability. The authors recommend design of experiences that evoke mixed emotions, promote social interactions, encourage altruism, and support environmentally responsible behavior. This study represents the first systematic literature review focused on eudaimonic tourism and its contribution to the sustainability of tourism experiences, highlighting its importance for the future development of sustainable tourism.
