Department for European Policies

Department for European Policies is engaged in interdisciplinary scientific research focused on the economic, legal and political development of the European Union (EU) and its relations with the candidate countries, potential candidate countries and the third countries. Internal reforms within the EU and with regard to that perspectives of Croatia as a member state are at the centre of research interests. The Department coordinates work of all IRMO researchers dealing with the EU topics in their specific areas (cohesion policy, consumer protection, industrial relations, environmental and nature protection, the role of civil society, security, migrations, etc.). The European Documentation Center EDC-IRMO has been established in the Department for European Policies as part of the Europe Direct information network established by the European Commission in the member states of the European Union. The center processes, analyzes and promotes information about the European Union it regularly receives from EU institutions. In addition to regular business reports, the Center also submits an annual report on its work to the Representation of the European Commission in Croatia.
