The UNESCO Creative Cities Forum, held in Varaždin with representatives from fourteen countries, brought together cultural institutions, city administration and international experts to discuss culture and creativity as drivers of sustainable urban development. On 28 August, the Forum’s final day, Marko Raič from the Institute for Development and International Relations delivered a presentation about the NITIES project, led by IRMO.
The presentation covered the project’s latest findings, from good-practice examples in night-time economy management gathered during study visits to Galway and Tallinn, to the results of a survey of nearly 200 night-time economy stakeholders across all seven partner cities and regions.
Varaždin has been part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network since 2023, making the management of the night-time economy and cultural offer an especially timely topic for exchanging experience and insight with the Forum participants.
