Horizon Europe Project ‘Increasing the international competitiveness of the film industry in small European markets’ (CresCine) was presented at the ‘Creative Future Insights 2023’ conference that was held at VERN University from 14-15th September 2023 in Zagreb. The project was presented by the Head of the Culture and Communication Department Aleksandra Uzelac, PhD who outlined the role of IRMO as one of the project partners in this large Horizon Europe consortium that consists of twenty-six European institutions and organisations from academia and the film sector. Dr Uzelac also presented the key aims of the project, as well as future activities and policy actions. The presentation of the project was held during the panel entitled ‘The importance of cultural and creative industries in Croatia’ where two other projects were presented as well: project ‘Museum of Personal Stories’ (Osijek), presented by producer Morana Ikić Komljenović and project ‘Back to the Local Cinema’ that is executed in Čakovec, Novska, Samobor and was presented by Helga Lajtman, CEO of the Cultural Centre Čakovec. The panel was organised and moderated by Martina Petrović, Head of CED – MEDIA Office Croatia.
