Dr. sc. Marina Funduk participated in Sarajevo, BiH from 8 to 10 July at the 4th DIKTAS II expert meeting, where the progress achieved during the first two years of the project was presented.

DIKTAS II is a project funded by GEF, implemented by UNDP and executed by UNESCO, aims to improve sustainable groundwater management in the Dinaric Karst Aquifer System, which includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.

Strengthening transboundary cooperation is one of the key elements of the project, which seeks to protect the aquifer systems of the mentioned countries and preserve ecosystems.

Since the project also deals with social issues, the meeting also analyzed the role of women in water resources management and promoted the involvement of all stakeholders, including institutions, local communities and organizations. DIKTAS II experts also presented the new project website.ce
