The Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Zagreb, has organised a lecture as part of the implementation of the Jean Monnet project, EULEAD. The lecture will be held by Prof Frank Schimmelfennig on the topic of “EU enlargement and differentiated integration”. Professor Frank Schimmelfennig is the professor of European Politics and a member of the Centre for Comparative and International Studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zürich). The focus of the lecture will be on the concept of differentiated integration, “multi-speed Europe”, or rather, Europe “a la carte”. The topic has for some time caused controversy in academia and expert narrative, but most recently it has gained additional traction in the context of proposing solution to some of the current challenges faced by the EU, including the perspective enlargement of the Union.

The lecture will be held in English on Friday 18th January 2019 at 12:00 at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb.
