Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of India to the Republic of Croatia, organized the first Round Table in the ‘India-Croatia Dialogue’ series at the Westin hotel in Zagreb.

The Round Table was addressed in the opening session by: H.E. Mr. Raj Kumar Srivastava, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, Embassy of the Republic of India to the Republic of Croatia; Mr. Jakša Puljiz, PhD, senior research associate, IRMO; Mr. Petar Mihatov, director general for political affairs, Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs; and Mr. Mato Njavro, dean of Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZŠEM).

During the Round Table, three panels were held, moderated by Mr. Krševan Antun Dujmović, M. sc., expert advisor at IRMO.

The 1st panel, titled ‘Strengthening the India-Croatia Relations: Through 4Ts – Technology, Trade, Talent & Tourism’, had the following participants: Mrs. Martina Dalić, president of management board, Podravka d.d.; Mr. Gordan Kolak, CEO, Končar Group; Mr. Stjepan Orešković, majority stakeholder, Bosqar Invest; Mr. Velibor Mačkić, PhD, associate professor, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, and advisor to the President of the Republic of Croatia; and Mr. Jakša Puljiz, PhD, senior research associate, IRMO.

The 2nd Panel, titled ‘Towards Climate Justice: Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen’, had the following participants: Mr. Dražen Balić, head of the Department for Energy Transmission and Distribution, Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar; Mr. Marko Ćosić, CEO, Đuro Đaković Group; Mr. Ivica Jakić, founder and president, H2-Hydrogen Cell Croatia; Ms. Natalija Parlov Una, PhD, security and energy resilience expert, Hybrid Warfare Research Institute; and Ms. Vesna Posavac, renewable energy expert, VPC Capital.

The third panel, titled ‘Strengthening the Resilience of Supply Chains: Building Trust & Transparency’, had the following participants: Mr. Branimir Vidmarović, Department of Asia Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Pula; Mr. Bruno Samardžić, member of board, Voice of Entrepreneurs; Mr. Antun Šunjić, director, Urbansoftech Limited; and Mr. Dario Dunković, PhD, professor, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb.

Round Tables within the India-Croatia Dialogue aim to strengthen cooperation between India and Croatia in the fields of education, science, culture, and economy. The second round table in the series is planned for March 2025.
