In the scope of the project “The responsibility for waste is also mine” roundtables on the subject of waste management are held in Knin, Drniš, Sinj and Imotski from August 26 to 29. The roundtables encourage conversation and cooperation of citizens and all institutions and companies involved in the planning and establishment of sustainable waste management system.

Roundtables are followed by educational workshops for students and information is spread by radio to increase awareness of the importance of waste reduction and waste separation and to encourage re-use of waste, as well as to increase awareness that responsible management opens the possibility of new jobs and the development of green economy. The Director of the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO), Mrs. Sanja Tišma, held the opening presentation at the roundtables “Sustainable waste management for a greener future: the European experience – Croatian perspective.”

The project is funded by the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Energy Fund and implemented by the association Centre for Sustainable Development in partnership with the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO).
