On Wednesday, 28 May 2014, IRMO was host to a group of young diplomats working at the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the countries of the Western Balkans. Their study visit to Zagreb and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia was organized by the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
In the name of the host, the head of the Department for European Integration dr. sc. VišnjaSamardžija gave a welcoming speech. Dr. sc. Hrvoje Butković held a short presentation on the recent European elections in Croatia. IRMO researchers Ivona Ondelj, PhD, Paško Bilić, PhD, Valentina Vučković, PhD and M.A. Iva Kornfein talked about their research interests.
The emphasis of the study visit was on questions, discussion and the exchange of experience. The guests were particularly interested in Croatian experiences after accession to the European Union as well as practical solutions applicable within their domestic accession negotiations.
