The Institute for Development and International Relations – IRMO has published the bilingual (English and Croatian) book written by Hrvoje Butković, Višnja Samardžija and Ivana Rukavina entitled Foreign Workers in Croatia: Challenges and Opportunities for Economic and Social Development. The publication is the result of research activities carried out in Croatia within the project “Bargaining for working conditions and social rights of migrant works in CEE countries – BARMIG (vs/2020/0119)”. The aim of this project, which has been running since September 2020, is to collect and analyse data how trade unions, employers and other actors in the new EU Member States deal with the employment of workers from the third countries. The contribution of this research is in better understanding of the obstacles that Croatia faces in tackling the shortage of workers and the acceptance of foreigners.
