The latest issue of SEE-6 Economic Outlook (Vol. 10, No. 2, December 2024) brings an analysis of the performance of the Croatian economy in 2024 and provides a medium-term economic outlook for 2025 – 2027. The analysis is written by Dr. Nevenka Čučković from IRMO.
The Croatian Government, international organisations, and investment rating agencies expect, with a high degree of consent, the continuance of the relatively strong growth rates in the medium term, although they will slightly moderate to on average close to 3% yearly. Such positive expectations are supported by a strong economic growth achieved throughout 2024, which is estimated to reach high 3.6%, in stark contrast to the rather sluggish growth rates of the other Euro area member-states. Major factors driving economic growth will continue to be high levels of personal and public consumption; continuance of the EU-funded investments and new job creation. The uncertainties jeopardising projected growth rates attribute mainly to worsening of international geopolitical situation and a slow economic recovery of the main EU trading partners.
SEE-6 Economic Outlook is a biannual publication in English, published by members of the SEEA association since 2015. The publication provides an overview of economic trends and short and medium-term forecasts for selected countries in Southeast Europe. It is published by the Institute of Economic Sciences, Belgrade, in cooperation with partner institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania and Slovenia, which also includes IRMO, Zagreb.
