On Wednesday, May the 25th, 2022, Daniela Angelina Jelinčić participated in the 28th Zagreb Library Association Forum entitled “Libraries, Cultural Tourism & Reading Culture”.
Daniela Angelina Jelinčić, scientific advisor at the Institute for Development and International Relations, presented a scientific and theoretical insight into the topic of cultural tourism, commented on international tourist traffic and compared it with Europe and Croatia. She explained the terms “overtourism” and “undertourism” as well as the cultural tourist profile alongside the typology of cultural tourism according to the degree of motivation. Special attention was paid to literary tourism where celebrity writers brand a particular country or region in terms that their literary work becomes the reason to visit and explore the country. Prominent libraries that have become tourist attractions were shown as well and participants showed great interest in the subject.
