From April 16-29, 2024, IRMO researcher Jaka Primorac participated at the Media Industries 2024 conference, held at King’s College London, United Kingdom. Dr Primorac participated in the conference as part of the panel titled ‘CresCine: Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Film Industry in Small European Countries’. The panel presented research results from several work packages of the CresCine project – WP3 Small Film Markets: Comparative and Cross-Sectional Perspectives, WP4 Innovations: IPR, Finance, Business Models and WP7 – Audiences and Diversity. Together with Dr Primorac, the following researchers from CresCine project participated in the panel: Manuel Damasio from Lusophone University (project coordinator), Ulrike Rohn (Tallinn University), Jakon Isak Nielsen (Aarhus University), Sten Saluveer (Storytek), Cathrin Bengesser (Aarhus University), and Ivana Kostovska (Vrije Universiteit Brussel).

This is the third Media Industries Conference organized by King’s College London, which aims to become a regular gathering place for researchers in the field of media and communications. The conference established cooperation with relevant communication professional associations (ICA, IAMCR, ECREA, EMMA, NECS, GFM, BAFTSS, etc.), and about 400 participants from all over the world took part in the conference, presenting research results and holding promotions of books and magazines from the media and communications field.
