The Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO) and the Zagreb Office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSSt) have organised a summer school of international relations in Dubrovnik (25th – 30th June 2021), entitled ‘Post-pandemic Europe: Politics, Economy and Society’. The summer school gathered students of political sciences and international relations, as well as numerous experts from Croatia and beyond, state officials and representatives of international organisations. In accordance with the overarching title, the event discussed a wide range of topics related to foreign and security policy, development and the economy, but also a historical reflection on the diplomatic practice of the Dubrovnik Republic and its relevance for contemporary diplomatic trends.

In a dynamic and interactive debate, the students had a chance to deepen the existing knowledge and hear about practical experience from contemporary international relations in the demanding period marked with COVID-19 pandemic. After successful completion of the programme, all students received certificates for their participation at the summer school. The entire event was organised in a hybrid way with only a limited number of participants present in person, while all others were participating in an electronic way due to the COVID-19 related epidemic restrictions.
