IRMO researcher Hrvoje Butković, in cooperation with Jan Czarzasty and Adam Mrozowicki from Warsaw School of Economics, published an article entitled “Gains and pitfalls of coalitions: Societal resources as sources of trade union power in Croatia and Poland” in the European Journal of Industrial Relations (EJIR). The article discusses what happens when unions are forced to build political coalitions due to the scarcity of other power resources and what are the dangers and benefits of such actions. It is a part of the EJIR special issue on trade union innovation in Central and Eastern Europe edited by Magdalena Bernaciak, Marta Kahancová and Aurora Trif.

The European Journal of Industrial Relations is the principal English-language forum for the analysis of key developments in European industrial relations and their theoretical and practical implications. The journal is abstracted and indexed in Scopus and the Social Sciences Citation Index which is part of the Web of Science Core Collection.
