The goal of the IN4Blue (Social impact INcubators FOR strengthening the capacity of Adriatic region to support the sustainable industry transformation of the BLUE economy sector) project implemented by IRMO is to identify the potential for the implementation of green and digital innovations in the blue economy of the Istrian County and to discuss the research findings among a wider circle of stakeholders through a panel discussion.
The project envisages the research of environmentally acceptable solutions and innovations in the area of the blue economy in the EU and the possibility of implementing these innovations in the County of Istria. Considering that the blue economy encompasses a wide range of activities (fisheries and aquaculture, maritime transport, energy from the sea, tourism and recreation, marine biology and biotechnology, protection of the marine environment, blue bioeconomy, coastal infrastructure), the project emphasizes the development of maritime transport and coastal tourism.
The following activities are planned:
– mapping of environmentally acceptable solutions and practices related to the blue economy in the EU,
– mapping of key stakeholders in the area of the blue economy in the Istrian County
– conducting semi-structured interviews with stakeholders related to the needs, capacities and skills of implementing innovations in the blue economy,
– organization of a panel discussion on innovation in the blue economy,
– creating a concept for a podcast on the topic of the blue economy in Istria
The project will improve the capacities of various stakeholders to encourage innovation and the joint creation of more sustainable products/services. It will be possible to support the digital and green transition of stakeholders in tourism and maritime transport.
