Plastic Busters: Preserving biodiversity from plastics in Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas

The project has developed methods and tools for the transfer and exchange of knowledge and insights gathered through the implementation of Plastic Busters MPAs related to marine litter in the protected marine areas of Italy, Spain, France, Croatia, Albania and Greece.
Project activities included the development of a Knowledge Transfer Plan (in coordination with project partners from the University of Siena and MIO-ESCDE) that contains target groups, methods, tools and channels for knowledge transfer and capitalization activities of the collected knowledge through the workshop “Decreasing marine plastic pollution waste in Mediterranean protected areas: Results and achievements of the Plastic Busters MPAs project and two regional trainings to strengthen the capacity to monitor marine litter.
