In cooperation with Croatian Forests, „Hercegbosnian Forests” Kupres and the Ministry of Science, Education, Culture and Sport of Canton 10, IRMO is a partner on the project „Protection of nature and environment from forest fires – ForestEye“ in the scope of EU IPA CBC programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina 2007-2013. ForestEye’s key stakeholders are „Nature Park Biokovo“ and the Ministry of Interior of Canton 10.

IRMO will be included in all activities, but in particular in “Education and awareness raising” (Act. 4) and “Visibility and dissemination” (Act. 5).

The overall objective is to enhance the quality of life in border area: SD County, Herzegovina and North-West region, by reducing damages/risks of natural disasters caused by forest fires, and increasing social cohesion in local communities through joint actions and awareness rising campaigns to protect and preserve the environment and encourage the sustainable use of natural resources.

ForestEye project will have impact on three main target groups: the general public, trainers and trainees, as well as institutions and organizations involved in forest fire prevention / protection of forests.
